Coach Kyle Patrick is in his second season at Blue Valley Southwest (BVSW) High School and is in his sixth season as a high school basketball coach. He is also a 4th grade teacher at our nearby feeder school in Aspen Grove Elementary.
Prior to coming to BVSW, Patrick was the girl’s varsity assistant coach at Paola High School (2020-2021). He then became the boy’s varsity assistant coach for the next three seasons (2021-2024). Patrick has also coached middle and high school football. Also, he has started his own private basketball lessons in Paola over the previous few years working with kids K-12. He assists in coaching our youth Wolf Pups girls basketball program. Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Ottawa University (2019), before completing his Master of Arts in Education - Curriculum and Instruction, from OU (2020). Most recently, he completed his Master of Science in Health, Human Performance and Recreation from Pittsburg State University in Summer 2025. Patrick grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas, before moving to western Kansas where he graduated from Otis-Bison High School (2015). He played football, basketball, and ran track in high school. Patrick went to Hutchinson Community College to play basketball. In his two years there, they were NJCAA National Tournament Runner-Up (2016), and NJCAA National Champions (2017). Patrick went on to play at Ottawa University, helping the team have the most successful year in OU history, reaching the Sweet 16 of the NAIA National Tournament, before being shut down due to COVID. Patrick currently lives in Spring Hill with his wife, McKenna, and his Black Lab, Maverick. |
